NASHVILLE-based Lisa Dolan MBA is the sole managing member of 1616 Venture Fund I GP LLC, which is the general partner for 1616 Ventures Fund I LP, for which she recently registered a target-$150MM VC raise with the SEC.

As often the case in such filings, the SEC document dated Aug. 7 reports no sales yet via the offering. Such filings are often harbingers of future closure of some level of limited partner and-or other investment.

At publication of this article, Dolan's LinkedIn profile did not include reference to her singular role in 1616 Ventures. Her profile signals that within the past 90 days or so she changed her employment status to "Something new" with "stealth" status.

Her profile prominently emphasize she views herself as "Obsessed with Technical Founders Solving Real World Problems".

Previously, she served as a managing director with Boston-based Link Ventures, which reports $1BN-plus managed capital.

In November last year, while still a Link Ventures full-timer, Dolan was appointed to the board of directors of the nonprofit Greater Nashville Private Capital Association (GNPCA), which currently has 95 member firms. Release | GNPCA board.

The career portion of Dolan's profile lists earlier finance-sector experience with JP Morgan Chase, American Express and Samson Capital Advisors, as well as her apparently continuing board observer and mentor roles with multiple entrepreneurial companies.

She explains online that she has "a background in predictive analytics in consumer and finance, and [at Link Ventures she focused on] early-stage companies leveraging large datasets and machine learning technologies to help enterprises with personalization, risk assessment, predictive analytics, automation, and decision making."

During 2018-19, she co-led dealflow pipeline management for Bullet Point Network, which today explains on its own website that it works with "private equity firms, venture capitalists, family offices, and corporate strategy teams to bring structure, speed, and substance to decision-making."

Dolan's profile also notes that while purusing academic degrees, she founded both customer-service platform Angel Intelligence and Savile Row Society, the latter a men’s shopping platform, and was responsible for product and business development.

In 2016, Dolan enrolled at Columbia Business School and earned an MBA with emphasis on investments and data. She earned her bachelor's in international studies at The John Hopkins University, in 2008.

Dolan and husband Daniel Lewis reside in Davidson County. Among other posts, Lewis is executive chairman of the board of AFS Inc. (Ascend Fundraising Solutions), according to the AFS website today.

Earlier this month, now-fintech-focused Lewis became Interim CEO of New York City-based Better Home & Finance Holding Co. (NASDAQ: BETR, market cap ~USD 260.85MM).

Given Nashville's still-expanding role in Bitcoin, blockchain and related matters, we'll emphasize that Better Home's recent strategy includes partnering with Coinbase Global to deliver a new mortgage product that "allows home buyers to pledge their crypto holdings when getting a Fannie-backed mortgage instead of selling the crypto to make a cash down payment," as  reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The Better holdco asserts Better.com is "the first AI-native mortgage and home equity finance platform, and first fintech to fund more than $100B in loan volume. Since 2016, Better has leveraged its industry-leading AI platform, Tinman®, to achieve it's mission of making homeownership cheaper, faster, and easier for all Americans. In October 2024, the company launched Betsy™, the first voice-based AI loan assistant built exclusively for the mortgage industry."

"Better won the 2025 Fintech Breakthrough Awards for Digital Mortgage Innovation, 2025 Banking Tech Award for Digital Mortgage Innovation, and was named Best Online Mortgage Lender by Forbes and Best Mortgage Lender for Affordability by WSJ in 2023, and #1 on Fortune’s Best Small and Medium Workplaces in New York," the profile continues.

VNC research indicates that in 2005, Daniel Lewis founded New York-based Orange Capital, an investment firm. In 2015, he formed Orange Capital Ventures. In Tennessee, he is listed as registered agent for 1616 Belle Meade LLC, which acquired at least one prime Nashville residential real estate asset.
